The story
This car was originally given to Mickey Thompson after Ford bought the car back from Tasca Ford . This is the former "997 S/S" driven by Butch Leal. This car was "acid-dipped" and lightened even further to a weight of 3,250 pounds. They added the teardrop bubble to the original flat 'glass hood, as one scenario is M/T took the HR engine out of the "Hemi" T-bolt and put it in this car.The traction bars are a set of trailing arms that are "boxed" and welded to the axle housing and mounted to a 2" square-tube crossmember. It also has a ball-joint spacer lift-kit up front. The car still has the original shocks on it. — MT63AFX
