About the 1961–1966 Ford F-100
The 1961–1966 Unibody-era F-100 stands out as one of Ford's boldest truck designs, and the builds here prove these trucks are far from forgotten. From a worn steering wheel and striped bench seat in a '63 to the chrome hubcaps and red rims on a black '66, you'll find real-world interiors, undercarriage details, engine bays with hoods propped open at shows, and patina-rich survivors still wearing their original dashboards.
The story
I've owned this F100since 1973 when It was a 240CID I-6 with 3 spd manual O/D. It is a SWB Style Side, custom, cab, and it has never seen rust. It was a West Texas truck when new. It had over 300,000 miles when I went through it.
I plan on chopping it 3" and adding 79 Air dash, eventially digital OEM instrument cluster from a T-Bird with S.T.A.R. capability.
I Love this truck. I have seen 12.6 ETs w/ TopEnd of 124.650mph at a 1/4 Mile Drag Strip. — FORDBOYpete
