About the 1992–1997 Ford Crown Victoria
The 1992–1997 Box Panther Crown Victoria might look like a mild-mannered sedan from the outside, but these owner builds tell a different story — turbo setups, Vortech superchargers, ProCharger blowers, and Brembo brake upgrades hiding under those boxy hoods. From maroon sedans parked on front lawns to blue Crown Vics with their engine bays cracked open at meets, this generation hub captures how owners are pushing the Panther platform way beyond stock.
The story
I inherited this car from my Dad in `01. It was our family car for several years. It went on many long distance trips. Now I am working on getting it back into top shape. After replacing a ball joint a few years ago ( which broke in front of the mailbox after just getting home from Colorado) the steering is very tight and touchy. My middle daughter spun it out (two spins @ about 50) and hit a curb and a small tree while going backwards. After replacing the broken wheels(four used Mustang wheels) and putting the bumper back on I drove it for a while. Now i am replacing the drivers window regulator(pain in the###) and need to replace the little cooling hose under the intake manifold(pain in the ###). Have procrastinating on these projects. Hope to be getting them done soon. — RooferRon
